UTN Training opens new centre close to Gatwick Airport

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Following AFI’s success in gaining clearance for delivering MEWPs to contractors working airside at Gatwick Airport, the group’s training operation, UTN Training, has opened a new dedicated training centre close to the airport.

UTN Training managing director Matt Scott said: “After AFI gained airside clearance it made sense to also provide contractors with a full suite of health and safety training courses. In addition, there are a number of high profile projects underway in the area so we felt that it was important to be located where our customers need us most.”

Located at Gatwick Distribution Point, Church Road, Lowfield Heath, Crawley, the new centre will initially offer health and safety classroom courses such as IOSH and CITB, with practical training courses due to be added in early 2018.

Courses during 2017 feature IOSH Managing Safely and CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS), including refresher, Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS), and Health & Safety Awareness.

Matt Scott added: “UTN Training now has 30 locations around the UK, and the new Gatwick centre is a further example of our commitment to deliver local training to a national customer base.”
