Working conditions committment

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Dutch safety clothing manufacturer Van Puijenbroek Textiel is celebrating 10 years of membership of the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) which marks a decade of committment to ensuring good working conditions in the clothing industry.

The Fair Wear Foundation is an independent non-profit organisation that works globally to improve conditions for workers in the clothing industry. Van Puijenbroek Textiel signed the FWF code of conduct in 2004. This code is based on eight labour standards such as no child labour at production sites and safe and healthy conditions for workers in clothing factories. The FWF annually verifies progress and the way in which its members have implemented the eight standards in their production value chain.

Commenting on the company’s collaboration with the FWF, Van Puijenbroek Textiel director Rob Kwaspen says: “We were one of the early adopters of a well-conceived system and are proud of what we have achieved at our production locations together with the FWF.”
